West Virginia School for the Blind

Music

WVSB offers a variety of musical opportunities for students with low vision/blindness.  Students have opportunities to learn various musical instruments through individual and group music lessons.  A recording studio is on-site for students to record tracks.  Students are also taught to read and write Braille music.

Our vocal ensembles, Tapestry and Mountaineer Melodies, offer students the opportunity to practice and enhance their vocal skills.  Tapestry is open to students in grades 6 - post-graduate.   Elementary students may participate in Mountaineer Melodies.  Both Tapestry and Mountaineer Melodies perform during Heritage Days each fall in Romney.  During the spring semester, these students travel to Charleston, WV to perform for the State Legislature.
