West Virginia School for the Blind

Welcome to Cheerleading. Cheerleading is a Winter sport, practice begins in November. It is a part of the EAAB (Eastern Athletic Association for the Blind). Cheerleading is both an Individual and team sport; the Cheerleaders cheer on their opponents when in competition as well as supporting their schools sports teams. Team Competitions consist of cheering, a dance routine and stunting. Individual Competitions consist of either a cheer or a dance routine. Cheerleading builds self-efficacy skills and encourages social skills in addition to spatial awareness of one's orientation and mobile coordination.
